Chicken Soup
Chicken stew is prepared from chicken meat and vegetables with the addition of spices, which all together makes a hearty soup dish of traditional Slovenian cuisine.

Place chicken, water, and bay leaves in a large pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes, skimming off any foam.

Add diced celery and parsley roots, thyme, black pepper, and Vegeta stock & seasoning powder. Simmer gently for 30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

Remove chicken and bay leaves, shred the meat, and return it to the pot. Stir in lemon juice, taste, and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve: Ladle hot into bowls and enjoy.
Advice
Pour in 250 ml of water and stir until it thickens. Finally, add the red pepper and crushed garlic. Stir the roux into the dish towards the end of cooking.

Serve warm, optionally sprinkled with parsley.
